Business Insight is the UK's most comprehensive public business information service, serving Birmingham since 1919, as part of the Central Library, operating at an UK level.
Jobs Insight is part of our service in Birmingham to help people seeking work, looking for a career change, returning to work, or who might wish to explore the options of self-employment or starting up a business. We specialise in helping disadvantaged groups and work in partnership with others in the city - Job Centre, Employment Resource Centres, Community Libraries, and Voluntary bodies.
The library service has 40 job libraries in the city and we deliver a series of 10 talks every two weeks on job search skills. We also have a bitesize programme (80 talks a month), Business Fairs and provide skills training (e.g. Learn Direct). This is backed by a comprehensive business support service including Creative Insight, who can help anyone from the germ of an idea into a successful business.
Our comprehensive range of services and resources are provided on an UK wide basis with a mix of free and commercial services. It is an impartial and non-biased service funded through value added charges for some services. We are a non-profit making enterprise.
